Slider (gliding) window
A window whose sash or sashes glide left-and-right on a horizontal track — no cranks, no springs.
What it means for you
Easy one-hand operation and a wide, low-fuss view; nothing swings into the room or the yard. It's a sliding seal, so it leaks a bit more air than a casement and the track collects dirt. A good fit for wide, short openings and basements.
