Drop in the total and the number of windows. We'll get it to a per-window installed price — the only number you can actually compare.
Enter both numbers to see your per-window price.
A range, not a quote — general 2026 NC tiers: recycled-content vinyl ~$450–$1,600, first-generation (virgin) vinyl ~$800–$2,400, composite / fiberglass ~$2,400–$4,400. Which tier you're being sold matters more than the number — verify for your project. Nothing you type is saved or sent.
Brands, glass, warranties, labor, permits — the line items a lump-sum quote hides.
Padded pricing, vague allowances, and add-ons that cost you without adding value.
Clear answers and the exact questions to ask — so you can negotiate or walk away with confidence.
We translate sales talk
| What the sales rep says | What it can actually mean |
|---|---|
| "Premium window package" | A bundle of add-ons — some worth it, some padding. Ask which line items you're actually paying for. |
| "Manufacturer’s list price is $1,200" | List price is a starting number, not what anyone pays. Compare the installed price, per window. |
| "Limited-time discount — today only" | A price that’s real today is real next week. The discount is usually built into the sticker. |
| "Lifetime warranty" | Often parts-only, and non-transferable. The labor warranty is the one that saves you money — read both. |
| "Installed to code" | Code is the legal minimum, not best practice. Ask about flashing, insulation, and old-window disposal. |
None of this means every salesperson is out to get you — plenty are straight shooters. It just means you should be able to read your own quote. That's what this is for.
We're building an automated reader: drop in your quote PDF and get a line-by-line breakdown emailed back — fair-price range, red flags, and questions to ask. Want a real person to do it in the meantime?
