A wood-frame window wrapped on the outside with a weatherproof skin (aluminum, vinyl, or fiberglass), so the interior stays real wood while the exterior shrugs off weather.
What it means for you
The way to get a wood interior without wood's exterior upkeep — no annual repainting on the weather side. It's a premium tier; the cladding material (aluminum- or fiberglass-clad is most stable) is worth asking about.
