Composite frame
A frame made from a blend of materials — often wood fiber plus PVC or fiberglass resin — engineered to be stronger and more stable than plain vinyl.
What it means for you
A real step up from vinyl in stiffness and heat/color stability, usually a notch below fiberglass in price. Judge a specific composite on its NFRC numbers and warranty, not on the word “composite,” which covers a wide range.
